Civilized Woman: The Ideal and Paradox of the First Republic Visual Culture. The exhibition an the catalogue deals with women's emancipation in relation to the visual culture of interwar Czechoslovakia. you can get acquainted with how a civilized / modern woman was portrayed and themed in various areas of Czech interwar visual culture (in addition to fine arts, the exhibition focuses on living, design, clothing, advertising, film, photography or period magazines and book production) and how It was an important - but also contradictory - symbol for the newly founded Czechoslovakia.
